Common Uploading Errors
“___-__-___” is an invalid social security number
Whether a number is off or your file dropped a leading zero, this error will stop the rest of the file from uploading. Double check that all of your SSNs are correct with nine digits. If you are confident they are all correct, check them against your Employee Roster—you may have a typo in an existing profile. If this is the case, update the existing employee profile, save, and let any downstream fund offices know of the past error. You can now upload your file.
The name in EPRLive for SSN ___-__-____ is ________. This does not match the name in your file, ______.
This error tells you which name has a typo. If the name is completely different, double check your records and your employee roster. Once you have rectified the issue in your file and/or roster, you can save the updated file and proceed with uploading your report.
A line item for [employee name] could not be added because [classification name entered] is not a valid classification for this agreement.
Go back to the template for the agreement you are reporting under. Copy and paste the appropriate classification from the template into your upload document and save before reuploading the document. Classifications must match the template exactly.
The Social Security Number cannot be blank.
This error occurs when either there is not a SSN for an employee OR there is data outside of your rows of employees in the upload file. If you built your upload file on the template, please make sure that the rows of instructions have been deleted before uploading.
Input string was not in a correct format.
This error is usually caused by using an incorrect character type in a column—for instance, your upload file has letters or extraneous special characters under a benefit column rather than numbers. The file will upload rows up until the row that contains an error, which will assist you in identifying the issue. Remove any values like this before saving and reuploading.
This upload file is not correctly formatted. The rows do not have the same number of columns.
Your file is saved in an incorrect format. Save your file as a .CSV and then upload it to the system.
There are one or more line items on this report that will prevent it from being submitted. Please review the report and make any necessary changes.
If you hover your mouse over the error icons, a popup will tell you exactly what is wrong. Also, pressing the "Auto-Correct" button will fix most types of errors for you.
There are values in your file that are below the minimum value allowed by the agreement rates. When you look through your report, you will see a yellow caution symbol next to the erroneous value; hover your mouse over the icon for a message on what the minimum value should be for that cell based on the classification and hours being reported. You can review more details of the rates for your agreement under Payroll Reporting > Review Agreement Rates.
If you still believe that the value is correct after reviewing the classification selected, the hours worked, and the agreement rates, please contact your Site Sponsor before proceeding with your report; Site Sponsors set and control rates in EPRLive. The phone number for the Site Sponsor is listed at the top of the report:
“Do you have problems or questions with this payroll report? Call ___-___-____.”
Object Reference not set to an instance of an object.
This can indicate that the file is not saved in a .csv format. This error also can indicate that you have one or more column titles that do not match the column titles of the template.
Column '____' does not belong to table Table1.
This error indicates that the column title listed is either missing or does not match the column title required by EPRLive
Maximum Request Length Exceeded.
There can be multiple reasons you might receive this error:
- Check your pagination selection under the Options box at the bottom of the page. You should select to see 10 rows per page before uploading--if it's trying to show All, it could be trying to retrieve too much information at once.
- There could be extra data in the file that can't be uploaded. Double check that your columns are matching the template provided in the agreement (no extras). Please also be sure that there is no extra data in rows at the bottom of your file such as column totals.
Other Issues:
If you have values such as hours worked in your file but they are not uploading with the rest of your employee information, check the column header to make sure it matches the report template exactly.
