I’m trying to add an employee to my roster but I get an error, “The Social Security number, xxxxxxxxx, matches an existing employee.” How do I add the employee?
This error message indicates that a profile already exists in your Employee Roster with this SSN.
You can search your Employee Roster by name or the last four digits of their SSN by using the filter boxes under the column headers. If you still do not see the employee profile, use the 'Status' column's dropdown filter to sort for 'Inactive' employees and search again.
Once you find the profile, make sure to check the 'Active' box if they are currently 'Inactive' so you may add them to your payroll reports.
Please note: Employee profiles cannot be deleted after they have been added to reports in the system, so do not create duplicate employee profiles.
